Ashlee first discovered yoga when looking to mix up her fitness routine as a means to “lose weight”, but to her surprise found a way to reach a higher level of consciousness and begin the journey to accept her body as is. Turning inward through meditation and asana (movement) has helped resolve many insecurities by understanding body awareness. Through this journey that began as a reason for fitness, she has found depression and anxiety management, patience and spiritual transformation. Ashlee’s teaching philosophy is to guide students through a practice that their mind and bodies need, but also provide tools to use off the mat in self-acceptance. Students can expect a well-rounded physical challenge in addition to some humor and playfulness.

Ashlee obtained her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification specializing in Vinyasa style Yoga from Mizizi Yoga School (via Bay Area renowned teachers Hana Raftery and Ngugi Kihara). Additionally she has her B.S in Anthropology with a concentration in medical studies and Minor in Psychology from the University of Utah. Outside of Yoga Ashlee has a special place in her heart for ocean wildlife and loves spending time whale watching and being on the coast, traveling and enjoying live music.
